Description

Best described as a cyberpunk cinematic hacking simulation, Colorful Darkness is a single player, narrative adventure game for desktop.

History

Early history

Colorful Darkness started as a game jam challenge between two programmers, who decided to design a hacking game that would be actually challenging and rewarding for IT-savvy people.

Back then, the plot was like "you play as Lisbeth Salander in Blade Runner or The 5th Element".

After that

Initially the game was going to be a point-and-click, but soon it became clear it had potential for being more than this. We like to call it “cinematic platformer” now, whatever that means.

Our vision is to provide a gameplay experience where hacking feels realistic if you’re into cybersecurity, and wrap it inside a cocoon of strong emotions delivered by a powerful narrative.

Core team members

Sandrine is in charge of the artistic direction. She draws the environments and the characters.

Sarah is our producer and script master. She also takes care of most of our communication.

David makes the game engine, invents the story and writes the characters' backgrounds.
